Margaret K. Lightner, FACHCA, is president and CEO of Botsford Continuing Care Corporation. The Botsford Commons Senior Community has been under her direction since 1998. The community is comprised of skilled nursing, assisted living, apartments and condominiums, serving approximately 400 residents. Under Lightner’s leadership, the corporation has realized significant improvements in financial performance, quality and service excellence.
Previously, she spent 11 years in hospital administration with Oakwood Healthcare with responsibility for ancillary and support services.
Lightner holds a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University. She has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1997.
Lightner has served on the Board of Directors of the Health Care Association of Michigan since 2006 and currently chairs the Quality and Education Committee. She is a past chair of the Michigan Center for Assisted Living. In 2008, Lightner achieved Fellow status in the American College of Health Care Administrators. She was awarded the Facility Leadership Award by the American College of Health Care Administrators in 2012.
The American Health Care Association invited Lightner to speak on quality and metrics in 2014, and recently she presented on the impact of Health Care Reform for seniors.
