Barbara Palmer is corporate vice president of Human Resources and employee services at Botsford Health Care. In this position, Palmer holds full strategic, policy and quality management responsibility for all system-wide human resources programs and practices. Her span of responsibilities also include executive leadership for a comprehensive employee concierge service; retail management of several gift shops; health and education of an advanced child care learning center; ecumenical guidance through spiritual care program; hospitality and customer service through volunteer services; and occupational health to promote employee health and safety.
Palmer holds a master's degree in Health Care and General Management from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. She serves as a part-time instructor in the School of Management at local colleges within the Metropolitan Detroit area. Palmer is currently the president for the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA), a national organization with a membership of more than 3,000 representing 5,000 health care organizations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
